About

Meet Nell

I've been singing since I was seven, when I joined my first choir, and it has remained a huge part of my life ever since.

Alongside my experience as a singer and teacher, I have a background in biology and nursing, which has given me a strong interest in anatomy, physiology and the science behind the human voice.

I love assessing what is happening in an individual voice, identifying areas for development and finding practical ways to build coordination, strength, control and confidence.

I'm an accredited instructor through the Institute for Vocal Advancement (IVA). IVA's approach has had a significant impact on my own singing, and it plays an important role in how I assess and develop voices in my teaching.

Every voice is different

There isn't one correct way to be a singer, and there certainly isn't one approach that works for everyone. My job is to understand your voice, your goals and the way you learn, then use that information to help you develop. Whether you're taking your first singing lesson or looking to take an established voice further, I'm here to help you understand what your voice can do and give you the technique to do it.

“Nell is a fabulous teacher. She is calm, patient, encouraging and clearly very knowledgeable. Everything felt very relaxed but with enough challenge and I could hear and feel a difference within one lesson. Would highly recommend Nell to anyone.."
