I teach online using Zoom. Before your lesson I will email you a link which you click to join. Before we start your first lesson, I will help you adjust your audio settings so that you get the most out of your lesson. You don’t need any specialist equipment – just a laptop, tablet or phone to join the lesson from.

In your first lesson I’ll spend time finding out about you and what you want to achieve. I’ll then get you to sing a scale that will give me lots of information about your voice. If this makes you feel nervous, don’t worry at all. I’ll support you every step of the way, and you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.
I will explain why your voice is doing what it’s doing and then help you with some exercises to develop your singing. We can work on a song of your choice as well, but if you're stuck for ideas, I can make suggestions.

I use techniques taught by the Institute for Vocal Advancement, where I study.
Training the voice using the IVA technique helps improve singers range, stamina, resonance, breath control, vocal strength and quality without causing damage or fatigue.
This technique enables the singer to find a balance between air flow and intrinsic muscular resistance all within a resting laryngeal position.
The technique I teach helps students to sing all styles of music in a safe, healthy, sustainable way.
